Feeling Launchy?

screenshot_google.jpgIf you are like me and feel that having to dig through your start menu every single day is a bane of your life and wastes time then I have just the program for you to use.

The program is called Launchy. Launchy is an open source keystroke program which allows you to search through applications and launch them. But it can also do other tasks such as searching on Google for a website such as EZ Computer Help.

Just download this fantastic lightweight application and then press “Alt + Space” and you can get to your applications.

I wouldn’t say Launchy is light-weight, 15,000 KB of RAM isn’t really impressing me. Someone also told me about Keybreeze, and I’m comparing the two at the moment. So far, Keybreeze appears to be lighter in weight and surprisingly has more features than Launchy. I also like how they use the semicolon hotkey instead of Alt + Space. The macro editor in Keybreeze lets you write a script of mouse clicks and keystrokes, and you can play it back later by typing a keyword. Pretty cool stuff.

@mikejor Where did you get the 15,000 kb of RAM from, it runs at less than half of that on my machine with 5,000 kb of ram running on my Machine.
