You can try ALT+F10 or CTRL+F10 during the initial boot cycle – this will prompt the laptop to access the recovery partition on the hard drive. If you need to boot from the cd/dvd drive you will need to change the boot order. You can do this in the BIOS setup, accessible by pressing F2 during the power on cycle, and editing the “boot” section.

I did boot to the DOS prompt and was then able to access the recovery images that way to.

Rebooting a computer can be as simple as clicking the “Start” button and selecting “Restart.”

Rebooting is the process of shutting down and restarting your computer again.
